Oregon Fifth Graders Use Service Day to Thank 'Lift for Life' Athletes

Every May 13th, students at the Oregon Episcopal School commemorate a 1987 hiking tragedy, involving a high school class and faculty members from the school, by partaking in service activities. Children from Mrs. Narramore’s fifth grade class wanted to show their support for people fighting kidney cancer by spreading awareness about the Lift for Life football players. They wrote to newspapers about the team, and expressed their gratitude for the players’ efforts by sending the team members cards.
